![]() Upon powering the notebook back up, the icon now showed the message "76% available, plugged in, charging", just as it normally would after usage on battery power. ![]() I then powered it down, removed the battery, then reinserted the battery. I powered down the unit, and then powered it back up. When I placed the mouse cursor over the battery icon, it read "98% available, plugged in, not charging". I recognized it as the power light, but had never noticed it flashing before. The next day, I noticed an orange light flashing on the front of the unit. When I plugged the notebook back into AC power, the battery recharged to 100 %. Installed and charged, it gave me about 5 hours of battery time. This is the battery I purchased:Īsus A42-U53 Battery 75Wh, 5200mAh (Extended Capacity) from Powerwarehouse through Amazon. ![]() The only difference that I can tell is that the new battery is listed with a higher mAh (5200 versus 4400). I took the information off the existing battery (A42-U53). The original battery had weakened to the point of lasting for less than 1 hour per use. ![]()
